Contrast sensors are photoelectric sensors that determine contrast by sensing reflected colored light (red, green or blue) to detect the difference in the wavelength of the reflected light between mark and background.

Industrial applications include packaging lines, beverage and bottling lines, paper and printing machinery, and ceramics printing. S8 series sensors with stainless steel housing provide IP69K washdown protection for use in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
